LGBTQ+ individuals and Roma face injustice from the Czech government. The Roma have a history as victims of genocide perpetrated by many European governments. In the Czech Republic, women have been subjected to forced steralization and the once nomadic ethnic group has been forced to adopt sedentary lifestyles. Transgender individuals also face forced steralization and must undergo surgery in order to be recognized by their chosen gender by the Czech government.
