Please Stand with Victims of Genocide and Religious Persecution

Dear Leaders of Congress,

We, the undersigned 83 human rights organizations, scholars and leading activists, write to urge you to sign the attached bipartisan MOC letter to Secretary Tillerson regarding U.S. policy on Sudan.

Since Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, staged a coup in 1989, over 3 million people have lost their lives due to state sponsored violence, including genocide, and over 6 million have been forcibly displaced from their homes. The radical Islamic ideology guiding the Bashir regime and its allies in terrorist networks worldwide is the greatest threat to international peace and security.

The Sudan regime has not changed. While it remains focused on changing the demographics of Sudan and stealing the resources of the country, we urge Congress and the U.S. Administration to remain just as focused on supporting the people of Sudan and their right to freedom, justice and equality.

Please consider signing the attached letter. We understand the deadline has changed to Friday, March 9th.

Sincerely,

Act for Sudan, Eric Cohen, Co-Founder, Boston, MA
