Details

After the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Taliban takeover, violence against civilians and minority groups has continued. Taliban militias have pursued revenge attacks against members of the former Afghan government. Women’s rights have been suppressed, and Taliban forces have carried out arbitrary arrests against civil rights activists and journalists. LGBTQ+ individuals are targeted in widespread attacks.

The Taliban has renewed attacks against ethnic and religious minorities, particularly the Hazaras. Hazaras are subjected to forced evictions and targeted killings. They face a high risk of genocide under Taliban rule. ISKP continues to target ethnic and religious minorities in genocidal attacks.
